Furthermore, if two people have similar choices, they could be matched up. Then they could have a chance to make friends & chat with each other.

01 Concept Initialize

One day when I was talking with my friends, we were all amazed by the lifestyle differences between us, which could let us all feel very interested in the topic and none of us felt like that hours have already passed. So, I came up with the idea that would it be marketable if there is a platform on which people could engage with others by finding the same and feel

the difference?

02 Research

In order to testify whether my idea works, I designed a questionnaire to find out.

Here is my questionnaire.

03 Findings

Finding 1: Have other people just like I ever wondered that there could be someone else has the same habit as themselves?

Most people just like I do have wondered about that there could be someone else has the same habit as themselves.

Finding 2: Which kind of people do others prefer to make friends with? Same or different?

Most people are more inclined to make friends with those who have the same habit as themselves instead of who is different from them.

Finding 3: Do other people notice that they could have some special micro-addictions on themselves?

Many people do have found that they have some special micro-addictions on themselves. And what's more, many micro-addictions are sort of identical, which means that people all over the world are quite identical.

Finding 4: If being provided by many options, how many options will be the best for people to select from?

Most people have select phobic, which means they will kind of refusing to choose one from many options.

3 Organize his/her items.

2 Keep his/her hands dry all the time.

04 User Story

Based on the findings, I created 2 stories of users which could help me better understand what needs to be included in my project.

User A

Mike

Male

20 Years Old

College Student

"As a college student, I want to know more people instead of just on campus. I want to know if there is someone who could have similar points of view of everything. I want to make friends with them. Talk about our similar or different points."

User B

Regina

Female

25 Years Old

Photographer

"As a photographer, I always travel around the world to take photos.

One day, I saw a man peeling a banana from the top, I was amazed! Ever since I've grown up I never saw one who peels a banana from the top. Almost everyone around me peels a banana from the bottom. So I wondered that there could be more things like this which could let us find the same and feel the difference."

05 Goals

1. Make choices for fun

Our life is made up of thousands of choices. Let users see interesting questions set up by others. Users could make a choice from two options and have fun from this process.

3. Find the same & feel different

Everyone could live a same or a different life with another one. See how many others are the same as you, and how many are different from you. Make friends all over the world.

2. Let others make a choice for users

We always have questions about the world. Let users poll up their questions, and other people could make choices for users. Meanwhile, users could engage with others, and have fun.

06 Competitive Analysis

Choicemap.jpg

1. ChoiceMap – iOS & Android

You can create a new decision. For that decision, you list all of the possible choices before you. Then, you list all of the factors that go into the decision and you weight those factors by priority. Finally, you go through each decision and rate them based on the priorities you listed.

However, the overall design is too simple, which could be a little bit boring. Meanwhile, you can only make decisions by yourself.

2. Decision Buddy – Only On Android

Like ChoiceMap, Decision Buddy is a decision making application that breaks down the process into manageable little steps so you end up making a decision without actually making a decision. It comes with hundreds of preloaded decision-making options so it’s faster than Choicemap but not as customizable. And meanwhile, it is only for people who are struggling with making choices.

3. Yelp – iOS & Android

Yelp is an app that could recommend not only “Where do you want to eat?”, but also more than that. It could recommend the nearest restaurants, gas stations or something else based on the filter such as distance, other people’s marks and etc..

However, Yelp is only focusing on searching for food and entertainment places. Users could not make friends in the app.

4. Tinder – iOS & Android

An App that allows people, especially boys and girls, to chat for fun. Swipe, match, chat, date, Tindering is easy and fun—Swipe Right to Like someone, Swipe Left to pass. If someone likes you back, it’s a Match! This interact logic is really simple for people, and this App can appeal to people to use it. It can easily attain high customer loyalty & make users feel it’s really elegant to use it. I really like the interaction, which could give me some idea when designing mine.

Best Decision .png

5. Best Decision – Only On iOS

Best Decision is minimal and straightforward and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. When you need to make a tough decision, all you have to do is go through Best Decision’s 5-step process:

What’s the decision?

What are the possible outcomes?

What are the priorities and criteria?

How do you feel about each outcome?

Done!

But meanwhile, the overall design of the Best Decision is too simple and not very creative and interesting.

09 Mood Boards & Style Boards

Because I want to design an application whose target users are young people (18-30). So, I decided to use refreshing & cool colors which could let users feel energetic.
